VE Crew were pleased to recently work alongside Spudnick Productions to film a musical review of prolific musical theatre composer Leslie Bricusse. The ‘Pure Imagination’ show took place at St James’s Theatre, London and included a performance of selected songs, followed by a Q&A session with the man himself.
We provided five Sony F55 camera kits, along with a mobile viewing gallery which was built to requirements on location. Our team enjoyed the challenge of coming up with on the spot solutions for working within a confined space, on a very tight schedule whilst at the same time considering the necessary health and safety issues required for working within a public space.
Our brief was to record content for a high quality DVD of the show and to simplify this we provided a live edit using a Panasonic AV-HS410 vision mixer and AJA Ki Pro for external recording on Pro Res 422 ‘ready to edit’ format.
By recording both the matinee and evening shows, we were able to ensure the best possible execution of the shoot and record high quality 4k footage from a variety of camera positions.
All cameras were matched prior to the shoot at VE Crew to ensure the smooth running of the shoot on location and in post.
