Rob Humpage Equipment Coordinator
At VE Crew my role is to ascertain the technical requirements for shoots, allocate cameras and necessary equipment and source specialist supporting kit when needed. I oversee the logistics of each production by communicating the needs of our clients to our in-house team to ensure that each kit is delivered on spec and on time.
I joined the VE Crew team fifteen months ago, having spent the previous four and a half years working as a Post-Production Sound Engineer for a leading Soho facility, contributing to projects including The Hobbit, Rush, World War Z, Mission To Lars and Dr Who.
When I left post-production, I was looking for a new challenge that would allow me to continue working in production, but also provide me with opportunities to develop new technical skills. I definitely found it! Since working with the VE Crew team, my knowledge of cameras, accessories, rigging solutions, grip and lighting has been developed considerably and I now enjoy working within the team to offer technical support to our clients, throughout each shoot.
Having worked as a Sound Operator, I understand the importance of kits arriving according to shoot specifications and at VE Crew we invest a lot of time and attention into the workflow of each shoot to foresee any additional items that may be required to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
